Review: iSinkU iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app review

May 31st, 2010 Posted in Product Review | no comment »

This game was a total blast!

It had me thinking back on the “olden” days as my kids would say. I used to play Battleship before the electronic version came out. So I know the fun of both versions.

This app gives you so much more.

So, for those who love a good game of battleship-like fun, pick this app up!!! (oh btw they let you move your ships during game play! Sneaky huh???)

I’d like to thank AppGiveaway and the developer for the ability to review this app.

Please see the bottom of my blog for my disclosure statement.

The S.T.A.R. Powered Twins by Dorothy A. Lecours

May 31st, 2010 Posted in Book review | no comment »

This book very much reminded me of The Secret, but for kids. It’s a new agey book about words you should never use, like ‘can’t', ‘never’ etc.

I’m not 100% sure that I would actually purchase this book in the store because I’m not quite as new agey as this book appears. I would however check it put from the library in hopes if learning something new to help my children master life.

Jace and Grace go around, with the help of their parents and grandparents, learning about the things that will help them to become better, more-rounded individuals.

If you enjoy books that enable you and your child to bond (since this book can’t be read by your child alone) then this book is something that you will enjoy.

I’d like to thank AME for the ability to review this book. This book has been donated to the Hepburn Library in Colton, NY.

Please see my disclosure statement at the bottom of t his blog.

Review: A Big Big Dream by Michael Scott Roberts

May 28th, 2010 Posted in Book review | 3 comments »

Being raised in Lebanon, PA A Big Big Dream immediately made me want to read it. As a child you are ingrained with a love of all things Hershey, so learning more about the boy and the man was wonderful. This book has a great purpose in showing children that you can overcome and get the things you want/need from life by perseverance. Just because it doesn’t work right away for you, DON’T GIVE UP! keep trying and your dream can become a reality.

Here is some more information on the book:

Your child will be inspired to dream big dreams and never give up as they experience the incredible story of Milton Hershey, the world famous chocolate king.  This true life tale of adversity, perseverance, success and generosity teaches that big dreams can come true.

Beautifully illustrated, this story comes to life with not only the written word but also with audio narration and through the inspiring, upbeat song “A Big, Big Dream” written by the author and performed by national recording artist Barry Wilson.

*****

I would love to thank Paula K. with AME, Inc., and the author Michael Scott Roberts for the opportunity to review this wonderful book.

This book was donated to the Hepburn Library in Colton, NY.

Review: I Has a Hotdog by Professor Happy Cat

May 18th, 2010 Posted in Book review | 3 comments »

For all of you that love the LOLCats – you are sure to love I Has a Hotdog. Our family is a HUGE pet fan, with 4 cats and 2 dogs, we can’t seem to get enough. I was extremely excited to be offered the opportunity to review this book.

I need to send a great big thank you to Book Blogs and Anna Balasi for the wonderful opportunity!  :)

I ended up reading this in our van right after getting it and heading to a doc appointment out of town. I then let my 17 year old read it because she felt she had to read this before the other kids. Our 6 year old is GREAT with dogs and other animals and wants to be a vet when she grows up. I  read the book to her and ended up with 3 kids all around my chair listening, laughing, and just grinning their little hearts out.

In case you would like some more information on this book, read below:

Girl ExtraOrdinaire Review and Giveaway

May 3rd, 2010 Posted in Giveaway, Product Review | 4 comments »

OMG – I’m in love! His name is Rob and I’m going to marry him! I made the happy mistake of telling the wonderful ladies at Girl ExtraOrdinaire that I was, and they made my life Christmas in *whatever month I opened it*! I squeed like a little sissy, and they high kicked (since I’d fall on my butt if I did that!) and a review and giveaway was born!

You should see their Bridal Collection! It’s stunning. It’s taken me a million years to get this review out and about because I HAVE to be able to find something wrong with everything that I review. Because in all honesty, most products have a flaw! So here is their flaw! Are you sitting down? Their tag is annoying. It’s on the left side down by my hip and it’s scratchy as all get out! There – it’s out in the open!

I’ve washed the shirts that I have gotten about 1,000 times – cause I like the attention I get when people know I’m the bride to be! Since wearing them 1,000 times, I have washed them 1,000 times. And every bit of sparkle and brilliance the clothing came with IS STILL ATTACHED! I’m stunned. Anything I have ever had that has sparkly things ended up with half of them gone when you pull it out of the dryer! Not so with Girl ExtraOrdinaire!

And the owners of the company are to die for! They are kind, considerate and PROMPT when answering all questions. How could you not love that.

So I want to thank Courtney and Tiffany for such a wonderful opportunity and kindness beyond anything that is ever deserved! Thank you for your wonderful sweetness!

Now, for what you have been dying for (I know I am!) the Giveaway!
