Misc. Ramblings

I am in no way a coffee guru, nor do I drink it on a regular basis. But Torani has changed my view of coffee, cookies, hot chocolate, teas, lemonade, etc. In the winter there is a likelihood that you will find me with a cup of coffee in my hand. Not only to warm the fingers, but the bones and soul as well. Unfortunately the summer months never see a cup of coffee, but there is a ton of tea in my life.

After trying the Torani syrups in my home for the past month, I have fallen in love. The Brown Sugar Cinnamon, even in sugar free, is heaven in a cup of hot chocolate. Even one of the neighbor boys comes over and asks for the ‘coffee stuff’ in his hot chocolate. I’ve tried it in coffee, teas, and cocoa and mmmmm, good. (Not just for Campbell’s soup anymore.)

I will admit that I was a tad bit disappointed in the Peppermint bottle. I’m not one for peppermint at all, and was wondering what in the world I was going to do with this. So, crazy adventurous as I am, I created a peppermint patty cookie. I’m still working the wrinkles out, but they are coming along good. Of course I have an eleven year old boy who taste tests things for me.

I was impressed by the fact that Torani had about 1,000,000 flavors in both sugar free and non-sugar free varieties. I will admit, I was aching to try the Bacon flavor, though I have no idea what I would have used it for. Maybe some bread with cheese in it. Mmmmm. I love Chai Tea Spice flavored anything so I can’t wait to try that one either. I’ve always wanted to try the Blood Orange flavor having never had a blood orange. (I know, I’ve been hiding under a rock.) I’ve heard that a lot of my blogger friends are in love with the Salted Caramel, but I couldn’t find that in my local store.

This year I have decided that I am going to do NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo. I’m not quite sure what has gotten into my brain thinking that I can accomplish both. With NaNoWriMo I need to write 1,667 words a day for 30 days. Yesterday I managed a whopping 2,212! That is better than the 1,600 I had last year. Last year the world seemed to fall down around my ears and threaten to swallow me whole and leave nothing but the shell of who I am. This year I have gotten organized and refuse to let life kick me.

I’ve been working with SheSpeaks. I was lucky enough to get into their Cerra program. And now I’m in their Torani program. I’m so excited. It’s a great thing that the FedEx man wasn’t spotted dropping off that package, I might have kissed him right on the lips. I ripped it open right away and made myself a cup of coffee.
